Crimson Waratah and a Vase

The inspiration for this painting was a visit to the local Farmer's Market. I saw this magnificent crimson flowers with razored leaves and long stems. They made such an impression on me! As you can imagine I couldn't resist buying a bunch, and then hurried into the studio to paint it.

I used oil paints on a stretched canvas and worked on this painting for a few weeks.
