About Dalit
MArtTher, BAppS/counsel, Grad Dip, ECAP
Hello, I’m Dalit. I’m a PACFA-registered counsellor and registered art therapist with over 20 years’ experience supporting adults and children in public and private practice across Melbourne and Bayside. I offer counselling and art therapy in a calm, grounded space where you can slow down, make sense of your experience, and move towards meaningful, lasting change.
Counselling for Life Transition
I offer counselling and therapy for adults navigating significant life transitions in Melbourne and Bayside, including separation, divorce, retirement, career change, grief and loss, anxiety, and periods of uncertainty. These experiences can feel overwhelming, and therapy can provide a steady, supportive space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most. Together, we can make sense of change, strengthen your inner resources, and build greater clarity, resilience, and confidence as you move forward.
My Story
My counselling journey began through my own experience of seeking support. I studied Art Therapy in Melbourne during a challenging time in my life, and I experienced firsthand how creative therapy can bring clarity to complex thoughts and feelings. While the process was sometimes confronting, it also helped me feel more grounded, hopeful, and connected to myself.
That experience continues to shape how I work today: with honesty, curiosity, and compassion. It led me to further training in counselling and psychotherapy, alongside the realities of raising a family as a single mother. I understand how full and demanding life can be, and I’m committed to offering practical, respectful support for adults navigating anxiety, grief, loss, and life transitions in Melbourne.
My Counselling Approach
My counselling approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to your needs. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s happening, notice patterns that may be keeping things stuck, and build practical strategies for meaningful change at a pace that feels safe and supportive. I draw on evidence-informed counselling, analytical psychology, family systems thinking, creative therapies, and gentle mindfulness and meditation practices. This may include Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Art and Play Therapy, Sandplay, and Meditation, always chosen to best support your goals.
